Our client is looking for a temporary accountant for 2 +months to cover a leave.

Under general, supervision and direction of the chief financial officer and finance supervisor perform general to difficult professional accounting work in the preparation, maintenance and processing of accounting records, financial transactions, and financial reports, payroll, budgets, analysis, financial data, auditing, and preparation of special reports. The accountant position performs intermediate to advance level accounting work, then is expected to independently perform a wide range of assignments, requiring an analysis of financial reports and preparation of those reports.

Duties and responsibilities

Prepare quarterly, groundwater, invoices, accounts, receivable, invoices, monthly pipeline invoices, as well as pursue collections of past due accounts.
Prepare a variety of detailed accounting, statistical, and/or narrative, financial statements, or reports requiring analysis and interpretation of source data.

Participate in the maintenance and analysis of all general ledger accounts and activities and account subsystems such as accounts, payable, accounts receivable, payroll, inventory/fixed assets and revenue.

Performs fund analysis by reviewing assigned general ledger accounts: make adjustments, corrects Errors or contacts operating departments regarding necessary changes.

Prepare, adjusting entries, fiscal year, closing statements and documents for auditors.

Prepare federal, state, local claims, surveys, statements, and reports as necessary.

Interprets Grant award agreement and monitors for compliance, maintenance support, and expenditure documentation.

Interprets, monitors and insurance compliance of debt service requirements and continuing disclosure requirements.

Provide backup, relief of accounts, payable, cash, sharing, and other accounting functions as needed.

Assist and participates in the preparation of the district operating and Improvement budget/plan, as assigned.
