Job Description
The EDI Administrator will be responsible for the implementation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of EDI systems and processes. This role requires a detail-oriented professional with strong technical skills and the ability to work collaboratively with internal teams and external partners to ensure seamless data exchange and system integration. This salary position will report to an IT Manager. This position will be based out of home office located in Appleton, WI, or in one of our other company locations.
DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES: - Manage and support the day-to-day EDI operations, including setup, configuration, and maintenance of EDI systems.
- Monitor EDI transactions and workflows to ensure accurate and timely data exchange between the company and its trading partners.
- Troubleshoot and resolve EDI-related issues, coordinating with internal IT teams and external partners as necessary.
- Develop and implement EDI maps and processes to facilitate smooth data transfer.
- Maintain EDI documentation, including transaction sets, partner profiles, and process flows.
- Collaborate with business units to understand their EDI needs and provide solutions that enhance efficiency and data integrity.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations related to EDI.
- Provide training and support to internal users and trading partners on EDI processes and best practices.
- Continuously evaluate and improve EDI processes and systems to ensure optimal performance.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: - Proven experience as an EDI Administrator or in a similar role.
- Strong understanding of EDI standards and protocols (e.g., ANSI X12, EDIFACT, XML).
- Proficiency in EDI mapping tools and software.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: - Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite).
- Familiarity with supply chain and logistics processes.
- Knowledge of programming languages such as SQL, Java, or C#, Python.
PHYSICAL CAPABILITIES AND REQUIREMENTS: - Travel in a car and an airplane 15% of the time.
- Ability to sit for extended periods within an office environment.
- Ability to use hands and fingers for computer keyboarding, and answer phone calls.
- Ability to communicate via the telephone using speaking and hearing skills.
