Legal Clerk/Legal Administrator

LHH Recruitment Solutions seeks a motivated Law Clerk/Legal Administrator to join our boutique law firm client\u2019s growing team. In this role, you will provide attorneys with comprehensive administrative and legal support, ensuring their practice's smooth operation and organization.

What you can expect:
  • Part-time schedule 10:00 AM \u2013 5:00 PM
  • Approximately 15-25 hours/week
  • Onsite position in the North Loop area of Chicago (not a hybrid or remote role!)
  • Long-term W2 temporary contractor work with the potential to convert to a full-time employee.
  • Pay Rate of $20/hour
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Manage and organize client files using Bates stamping
  • Assist with case management, including calendaring, deadlines, and case preparation
  • Manage client intake, including data entry and file creation
  • Perform administrative duties such as scheduling appointments, preparing correspondence, and maintaining office supplies
  • Answer phones and greet clients in a professional and courteous manner
  • Draft legal documents (pleadings, motions, letters) under attorney supervision
  • Assist with electronic filing (e-filing) of court documents
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 1+ years of experience in a US law firm setting (family law, divorce, civil litigation, and estate planning a plus)
  • Familiarity with legal terminology and procedures
  • Demonstrated ability to file documents with courts
  • Ability to draft and revise legal documents
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Adobe PDF
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Experience with legal case management and billing software a plus
