DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    \n
  • Ensure that Health and Safety is the number one priority by complying with all safe work practices, policies, processes, and acting in a safe manner.
  • \n
  • Operate the treatment facility and wastewater treatment equipment to control the flow and processing of wastewater, sludge, and effluent.
  • \n
  • Maintain a safe working environment and a high quality plant effluent within permitted discharge limits.
  • \n
  • Ensure that all treated wastewater released to the sewer system is in compliance with the permitted discharge limits and make certain that no prohibited discharges are released to the sanitary sewer.
  • \n
  • Collect samples and perform internal laboratory tests and analyses.
  • \n
  • Uphold efficient plant operations, maintenance, and recordkeeping.
  • \n
  • Maintain current and accurate operating reports and records, such as budgets, shift logs, status reports, and facility records.
  • \n
  • Keep an adequate level of supplies and chemicals on hand for effective plant operations.
  • \n
  • Train, schedule, motivate, and manage plant personnel to maximize operation efficiency.
  • \n
  • Enforce plant rules and procedures according to company policy.
  • \n
  • Collaborate with management to continuously improve plant operations.
  • \n
  • Monitor gauges, meters, and control panels to identify variations in operating conditions. Interpret readings and test results to determine equipment or process improvements.
  • \n
  • Other reasonable directives, responsibilities and activities may change or be assigned at any time with or without notice.

EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND REQUIREMENTS

\n
    \n
  • High school diploma or equivalent is required. Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
  • \n
  • Five (5) years’ experience working at an industrial wastewater treatment plant, depending upon formal training and prior experience, is required.
  • \n
  • Experience in a leadership or supervisory role is highly preferred.
  • \n
  • Experience in heavy equipment driving and operation required.
  • \n
  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of industry best practices, equipment, processes, risk assessment techniques, standards, and all applicable laws and regulations as they relate to the wastewater treatment field is required.
  • \n

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS

    \n
  • Continuous sitting and tasks involving repetitive motions using wrists, hands and fingers are required for periods of 6-8+ hours at a time.
  • \n
  • Occasional pushing or pulling of weights, twisting, and crouching for prolonged periods are required.
  • \n
  • Occasional carrying of weights from 0-50 pounds is required.
  • \n
  • Occasional climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching and reaching.
  • \n
  • The work environment involves some exposure to hazards or physical risks which requires the adherence to basic safety measures.
  • \n
  • The work environment may involve moderate exposure to the elements, including extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and loud noises.
  • \n

Pay: $100,000 - $120,000 per year

\n

The compensation for the role will depend on several factors, including the candidate's qualifications, work experience, competencies, and skills, and may fall outside of the range shown.
